I have googled this into the ground, and now I have another question for the gurus around here.
I want to get wine working, I have an amd64 box running gentoo, and I am stumped. What are the basic steps, and do I need to have a 32bit chroot environment? Any help would be awesome because I basically am desperate to have have dreamweaver.
thanks
PS if I need to do the chroot thing then let me know and I will just get to work on that

I dont think latest versions of Dreamweaver will work on Wine.
Would you consider Dreamweaver-like GPL software available for Linux? You may want to have a look at NVU, Quanta or scream.
does vmware work with 64-bit systems yet?

VMware works great on amd64. And it's in portage. You just need to buy it. I think it might be pretty cheap.

Pay the $50 for a copy of crossover office or get ready to do some serious reading. You need to be fairly familiar with windows to run wine effectively (at least that was my impression when I tried).
I've been running Dreamweaver MX and Flash MX using crossover office for over a year now with no major hangups, just the occasional hiccup.

Well I got the installer working but the version of dreamweaver I have is too new. I need to find a copy of dreamweaver mx 6.0 and then I should be fine. I thought it was funny when dreamweaver came up and said that my operating system was not supported
oh well
also, I compile wine with multilib and it worked fine, which was my problem before.
thanks all

crossover office is really the only way to go. and Quant and NVU 'got nothing on dreamweaver.
