I am the tech for a local school - using linux/samba for file/print. I all of a sudden cannot print as the caption showing up under the printers (XP Pro) is saying "access denied, unable to connect".
Here is the printer portion of my smb.conf:
[deskjet]
printer = HP6p
writeable = yes
printable = yes
write list = adeboer,admin,grade1,grade2,grade3,grade4,grade5,g rade6,gra
de7,grade8,jenny,helen,root,samba,supervisor,win95
comment = HP6p
valid users = adeboer,adm,admin,grade1,grade2,grade3,grade4,grad e5,grade
6,grade7,grade8,helen,jenny,samba,supervisor,win95 ,@admin,@admins,@win95,@grade1
,@grade2,@grade3,@grade4,@grade5,@grade6,@grade7,@ grade8
user = adeboer,admin,grade1,grade2,grade3,grade4,grade5,g rade6,grade7,gr
ade8,jenny,helen,root,samba,supervisor,win95
public = yes
printer admin = root
The primary user is win95. This has been working flawlessly for about a year and a half.....nothing changed and now its giving me this!
The /spool/hp6p is 777. I tried restarting samba...
any ideas?
Thanks.
Adrian
