Does anyone know if the
Biostar M7VIP Pro VIA KT333 Socket A ATX MoBo
will work with a Sempron 2400+? The Biostar-USA website doesn't say that it does, but it doesn't say that it doesn't.

I can't give you a definate answer, but my mobo took a Sempron 2400+ without a BIOS update (even though there is one available for it) and hasn't given me any problems as a Sempron is essentially an Athlon XP with a different name (though I think it's microcode may be slightly different), but that doesn't mean you'll have the same experience and I didn't see a BIOS update for your board. You should probably try emailing Biostar-USA and see if they can give you an answer before you get the processor, but if you already have the processor you might as well just try it and see, it won't damage anything as long as you install the processor correctly, of course.

I agree with Retsaw, my Sempron 3000+ is in a motherboard which thinks the proc is a Athlon XP2700+. However the clock is still correct (2GHz) and Ubuntu works solidly. If there are any compatibility issues I havn't seen them.

Actually the temperature reporting maybe reporting high but I trust my cooling enough not to worry and I've been folding on it for 3 weeks now.

Hope this helps, maybe not!
