Gnome- help with resolution

Im totally new to linux so here come the newbieish questions.
Everything is massive, how can i change the screen res to make it smaller.
is there a way without reinstalling it?

Which distro do u use ? I could help u with SuSE, but else I'm not sure about what to do exactly...

Try pressing control+alt+ plus sign on the numberpad. This switches between the resolutions you specified in your XF86Config file.
