Hi folks,

Please recommend an economic PCIe graphic card, approx USD40- to match ECS nforce4-A939 mobo. The box to be built is for testing software only, not for game nor for graphic editing.

What RAM capacity will be sufficient /16/32/64/128 ?

TIA

At the end your choice will come down to the price you can get them for. So its pretty hard for someone else to choose you a graphics card.
but i cam up with few PCI cards that you may want to have a look.
PCI 1 (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?Lprice=50&Hprice=99.99&Nav=|c:1558|c:1559|&Sort=0&Recs=10)
PCI 2 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?Manufactory=&PropertyCodeValue=679%3A9534&PropertyCodeValue=0&PropertyCodeValue=0&PropertyCodeValue=0&PropertyCodeValue=0&PropertyCodeValue=0&PropertyCodeValue=0&PropertyCodeValue=0&PropertyCodeValue=0&PropertyCodeValue=0&PropertyCodeValue=0&PropertyCodeValue=0&description=&MinPrice=&MaxPrice=&SubCategory=48&Submit=Property)
I would suggest you do a little research yourself ... read couple reviews. There are a lot of cards you can look at.

I sincerely doubt that there are any PCIe cards for $40, actually. The links eskaypey are about as cheap as you're going to find one. That said, the GeForce 6200 is likely the best you're going to be able to do in terms of cost and Linux compatibility.

I don't think you'll find a PCI-Express card for $40 either. The bus is way too new, and it's really only used for high-end cards, which are generally much more expensive.

(The average $40 card probably doesn't even need AGP, actually, so some of those plain-PCI cards might work just as well.)

Hi folks,

Tks for your advice.

I found;
Leadtek WINFAST PX6200 TD
GF 6200 / 128MB / DDR RAM
http://www.leadtek.com/3d_graphic/winfast_px6200_td_1.html

Leadtek WINFAST PX360 TD
GF PCX 5750 / 128MB / DDR RA
http://www.leadtek.com/3d_graphic/winfast_px360_td_1.html

both PCIe card, PX360 TD being lower in price. Is PX360TD Linux compatible?

TIA

Any video card with an nvidia chipset will be linux compatible. Just go to nvidia's website and download the appropriate package for your distribution.
