Please Help,
Been trying to install since last weekend. Purchased RED HAT LINUX 7 WEEKEND CRASH COURSE that came with 3 Linux CDs. Well, something CRASHed...

Trying to install on western digital 2GB with Intel pentium 200.

After booting with boot installation disk that I created, as per instructions, system stops booting, and you see:

"Partition check:
hda: hda1
Ramdisk: Compress Image found at block 0
crcc errorsVFS: Cannot open root device 08:41
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root FS on 08:41"

I then do the old 'ctrl alt del', and you see something about 'stopping boot ...', but install does not continue.

Can someone please help me?
I am new to Red Hat and Linux, but I'm fairly familure with computers and software, so have no mercy on config suggestions.

:D :D

I can't get pass this screen. This is at the very beginning of installation. I get this when I boot from the CD as well.

By the way, I was able to install on my other system (Packard Bell Pent, after configuring mouse and video), but that drive crashed. So the software seems to be somewhat ok. would appreciate any other help.
