anyone know about kapm-idled? i believe it has something to do with advanced power management...

i've read that there's a bug in it that makes CPU load monitors display around 80-90% CPU usage...but the CPU really isn't in use...

i read about this on a message board...& i'm not sure how true this is...

i know that my CPU load seems to stay around 80% and kapm-idled seems to be the culprit...it shows up in my process list, but there is no way to kill it (it's a kernel thread? i believe?)...

anyone know if this thing really is/isn't using my CPU nonstop? thanks.

This isn't gospel:

It's not using your CPU per say, it's making idle calls. I can imagine some CPU monitors may get confused by that... but I don't know. You may be able to turn it off by turning off "Make CPU idle calls when idle" under "General Setup" in your kernel's setup but again im not sure.
