Guess it`s just one of those days.
Finally I got slackware installed and after 3 hours I had x-win up and running. :D
When I start up x-win and move my mouse it shoots up into the right corner and stays there like frightened turtle. If I pull out the plug and set it back in, it works just fine. It`s a PS/2 mouse, slackware 8.0.
My xf86config file says this about the mouse :
Option "Protocol" "PS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/psaux"
The weirdest thing is that is works after I pull it out and set back in. If I go out of the x-win .. for instance by doing a ctrl + alt + F2 and then go back .. it acts crazy until I unplug/plug.
Weird!

Is it a wheel mouse? I had that problem in Mandrake 8.0. I fixed it by disabling the wheel feature in the hardware profile. (I don't know enough about Slackware to know how to configure that.)
