Does anybody know anything about the archiving tool Ark? I've created some .zip files in order to email some pictures (about 23mb worth) and the files don't seem anymore compressed than just creating a regular folder. So quite naturally, the email comes back undelivered because of being too large.

I've never used Ark, but if you're trying to compress JPEGs, you aren't going to have much luck, since the JPEGs are already compressed.

Thanks, I never really looked at it that way. JPEGS are already small.

There's another thread in here somewhere where members are offering invites to gmail, though of course I think one can just apply for an account now. Anyway gmail is good for sending large files too.;)
