Is there a HOWTO or some such online or can anyone just plain tell me how to "tame my daemons"? I'm running a fairly bloated install of Mandrake 7.1 & I am afraid that all the RAM is being eaten up by those little guys! I'm trying to install Oracle 8i and getting nothing but grief (won't even get off the first screen on the Installer Engine). I've got a Piii 700Mhz with 384MB of RAM so there's enough hardware to do the job, if I can just trim some of the fat! I checked linuxdoc & the LNO NHF's with no luck. Thanks!
