Hi all

I regularly use Desktop Sharing to connect remotely to my machine.

I always have GKRellm running to monitor my system specs.

I have noticed that when I connect through Desktop Sharing, my CPU is always at 100%. Yet when i connect to a virtual desktop via vncserver, it barely reaches 10%...

Why is this? More of a curiosity then a problem but....

Thanks

Hong

Probably because VNC is slightly less CPU-intensive ;) VNC tends to use a lot of encryption to allow fo slower connection.

You should try freenx / nxagent, which, IMHO, is even better.

Thanks.

I thought that might sort of be the case, yet I couldnt think of why Desktop Shring would THAT much more intensive...?

Oh well, guess its just 'one of those things' :)

PS I will look into freenx :)
