I'm actually using QNX, but I figured this is the place to go for help. Hopefully someone can...I downloaded, unpacked, and installed AbiWord (same one as Linux, also available for QNX). when I try to run it, I get the error message: "can't access shared library". Help, anyone? I'm new to this whole UNIX-style of running things; I love it, but I'm still new. is there a way to see if I even have the shared libraries, and where do I go from there? thanks ahead of time.

Well, under Linux, I would say run the command "ldconfig" and see if that helps. Unfortunately I have no idea what the equivalent is for QNX. Sorry.

what exactly does Idconfig do? also, would I type that in the directory where I have AbiWord, or in the root directory, and (in addition), are there are any parameters that follow it? thanks for your help

also,...I was reading through some things here..and I came across "make UNIX_CAN_BUILD_STATIC=0";" this mentioned in conjunction about ppl who don't have all the library archives needed for static linkage. I'm just throwing out some possibilities here; I don't want to try anything until I'm absolutely sure it'll do something....

Never heard of QNX myself.

Have you tried the QNX or Abiword support website? Perhaps others have encountered the same problem as youself.
