I've been using Outlook Express for years now, and with my move over to Linux I have one problem will all the mail clients I've tried...none of the can handle hotmail accounts! OE was smooth with everything, my ISP, 3 Hotmail and all my newsgroups in one nice tree menu...anything on the Linux side that can access Hotmail (besides going to the web page)?
Does something pre-exist in RedHat 7.2 and if so...how does that get setup?

I don't use hotmail, but Kmail is just fine for me. Definantly easier to customize and use then OE.

Ok, let me get this straight. I never used hotmail so forgive my ignorance. They don't have standard pop3 or imap access that every other email client on the planet can handle but rather use their own proprietary access protocoll that only the most insecure email client on the planet can handle??!? That's... well, that's Microsoft, I guess.

Yeah...I noticed the same problem. Wasn't too happy about it - but - what can you do? (Actually...I still have yet to get an e-mail client setup. I still head into Windows for that. Whoops.)

Hotmail is an outlaw, but for an Outlook replacement, Evolution is just wonderful. It's not quite compatible yet, it won't open a virus with just a click, but it's as close as I need. Ray

AFAIK, there's one that all distributions come with as part of their base installation:
less /var/spool/mail/<username>

It's pretty damn good, actually.

That is no good...I need an e-mail client that will let me blindly click and execute virus'! :p
That sounds like it might be worth checking out, you have a link on that?

The default client is not bad, but like I said, I need Hotmail support (I have 3 accounts I activly use and need a good interface like OE to get to them.

Anyone else have problems pulling up web page based e-mails on hotmail using Netscape/Mozilla?

Wow, Kurt, I never knew what an Übergeek you are. I bow before your vast knowledge of a super geeky command like 'less' and how to apply it to display a text file. Actually I found something earlier today where even a 1337 h4x0r like you can learn something: It's right here (http://www.newsforge.com/article.pl?sid=01/12/05/1259245).
