Good things:
Menus look to be a little refined, as are some of the control features.
Icons no longer re-arrange themselves when I log out.
Bad things:
They removed the cut/copy/past icons from the toolbars. WTF! I had to add them back in manually.
It "lost" my laptop APM settings and I had to go to the control panel and set them back up. Only took a couple minutes, but it was still annoying.
It reset my login background to default_blue.jpg. This is really my fault as instead of changing the background the normal way through the menu, I had just overwritten "default_blue.jpg" with my own jpg file. The upgrade overwrote my file with the "correct" one. Serves me right, I guess...
Also, note from Slackware changelog 3/26: gnome has finally been officially dropped from Slack, while KDE and xfce were both brought up to the latest versions.

More observations:
-Their compositor is actually a bit behind xapps in usability; but ahead in features and integration of course.
-This is the most stable x.0 release for them in my memory; 3.2.0 was unusable and 3.3.0 was a bit buggy.
-Kasbar has new features, and is partially broken.

I also noticed that the "devices" icon in konqueror is broken...

Looks like I will have to check out KDE again since GNOME is being dropped. I'm running GNOME 2.6 on my Slack 10.1 system now.
I wonder if Pat would consider bringing back Enlightenment.

That is true, maybe I will just have to see if I can get that to install properly. I botched the install of that the last time I attempted it. I must have missed something in the docs. Dorked my system bad. Had to remove every gnome package on my system.
I'm going to try package of Enlightement over at linuxpackages.net tonight.

well i dont like kde, to many things bouncing and playing music, just to perky. I did install kde3.4 on slack(it is gone now). The final straw was when i changed a theme it added all kinds of wered syntax. such as either worod s would be colored weird or everthing was spelled like th(!)is. and I couldn't figure out how to turn it off. With gnome being dropped and dropline gets a little intrusive and changes alot of base packages(and I like slack for its vanillaness:confused: ) I dont know what im going to try. Ive been playing with ICEWm , but I just havent figured out how to set everything up the way I like it.

soule,
You could install xfce only... ;)
or, in kde, run kpersonalizer and turn eyecandy items off or on individually.
I didn't have any of those issues with kde 3.4, but I installed it via swaret. The only things it changed on my system were the cut/copy/paste buttons mentioned above and my APM settings, both of which were easily fixed. These symptoms were identical across three Slack boxes.
Also,
when I installed dropline on my laptop, I actually unchecked it from the Slack setup and installed it completely from the dropline installer. Seemed cleaner that way...

My guess is that along with all new releases this too will have bugs that will be corrected as time goes by.
I really like icewm though.
