A guy donated me a nice Ultra-2 SCSI server, which is Acer Altos 11000 and the spec is:
Dual PIII 550MHz
2GB ECC SDRAM
4 x 8GB 7200rpm SCSI hard drives
1 x 18GB 7200rpm SCSI hard drive
Would Debian be a good choice since I want to run a webserver with mysql and php?
Would Debian have all the necessay tools like Apache, MySQL and PHP 4/5?

Yes, Debian does have everything you need. Check the package list on their site to see if it's all in their stable branch. Debian is good for a server because it has text-based utilities you can run from a shell or a cron-job. I think it can be configured to automatically update itself, also.

Sarge, grab the netinstall cd, its much easier. By the way, great find, how'd you get someone to give it to you?

So far, I'm totally impress!
It took care of the Adaptec AHA 3950UB Ultra-2 SCSI controller, all 4 SCSI hard drives, and all the integrated stuff like video graphic, network, SCSI controller and etc.
Connected to the net automatically and download the packages at the rate of 183KB/s.

I'm an engineer working for a charity organisation that recycles computers and a guy came by wanted to donate the server, which I thought at first it was some old junk.
Boy, I was wrong!
It got Intel Dual PIII 550 MHz, a regular SCSI controller, an Adaptec AHA 3950UB Ultra-2 SCSI controller, an IDE controller, 8 hotswap SCSI tray loads, 3 power supplies, 4 x 9.1 GB Seagate SCSI hard drives, 1 x 18 GB Seagate SCSI hard drive and 2 GB of ECC SDRAM!
My boss said, "Nah... just salvage it"
I said, "No freaking way! I'm taking this baby home and put Debian in it."
You should have seen me wetting myself. :)
