I really have no need for this service and its security risks, but i can't find it in xinetd.d or in rc.d/init.d , where do i disable this service? :confused:

If it's RH7x. You can go into the services configuration and shut it off there. Im not sure what name it's under but it's there. hanzerik 04-17-2002, 12:32 PM I beleave it's portmap. Type ntsysv and you will be able to shut it down in the current runlevel. justlinux.com
