I am in a sort of internship with the high school now, I can graduate early or get free network/wireless raining and certifications. One of the county employees thought it would be cool to set up a Linux mail server for the Wireless program. Also Solaris is an option, which is what we are trying now. Anyone have any good recomendations or basic steps to setting up a web based login mail server for Linux or Solaris, or personal prefrences/experience? Or maybe which distro if Linux, I do have some Linux expierience from home, although only Mandrake so far, but I was thinking of Slack or Debian. Thanks for any information anyone can give :) It will be GREATLY appreciated.

you won't learn as much as doing it from scratch, but if you want it quick and easy - out of the box (and easy to administer after you leave ;) ), then check
e-smith server (http://www.e-smith.org) it has web based secure (https) or regular web based email out of the box :)
