Im running slack 7.1, and keep losing time at an alarming rate.

My current uptime is about 12 days, and I am 1 hour and 10 min behind the rest of the world. I use xmms for an alarm clock, so these time increments are starting to get the best of me.

any suggestions?

What does the time show as in the BIOS?

With a older motherboard, it could be the battery.

You might want to consider XNTPD. It's small, requires no attention, and insures atomic accuracy. I did a page on setting it up at ntpguide (http://www.raymondjones.net/ntpguide.html)
