problem with KDE screen saver

Hey guys....

I'm having a little problem with my screen saver not showing up on screen. When I go into kde control panel I can see the little preview good. I can click test and have the saver come up on screen.
However, if I let the computer sit idle, the screensaver doesn't come on. Actually, it kinda does. The screen stops moving (if there's anything moving on screen) and when I move the mouse it asks me for my password as if the screensaver WAS on.

Its strange and I have no idea how to go about fixing it up. Hopefully you guys can help. I got my konqueror plugin problem fixed (thanks to you guys) and my aliases set up (thanks again) now once I get this working I'll be so happy!! :D

Have you chosen a 3D/OpenGL screensaver?

I've been having a lot of trouble with KDE lately.. Actually, my friend [*******] did a 'chmod -R 777 *' in my home directory and since then nothing's been working right.

I just removed my user account and re-created it. Hopefully this will fix it. I can't test it until I go home monday though.
