For xine go here. (http://cambuca.ldhs.cetuc.puc-rio.br/xine/) It is a site with RPMs built daily and it gives instructions on installation and how to install the w32codecs as well. It's where I go whenever I need to install xine on an RPM based system. To answer your second question, yes mount -t ntfs /dev/hdax /mnt/hdax will work for mounting an ntfs partition as long as your kernel as ntfs filesystem support. I don't recall if RedHat does or not by default.

With Red Hat 9 you need to get a ntfs module.
