I followed a link on debianplanet.org that said Woody/Sid iso's and went to a mirror ftp site that has the following files on:

woody-i386-1.raw
woody-i386-2.raw
woody-i386-3.raw

Each about 600MB. Excuse my ignorance, but what are these files? and is it possible to install from them? I want to upgrade to woody, but am also happy with a fresh woody install as I have everything backed up.

I am currently running potato 2.2r3 on a pentiumIII.

They would be iso images. Burn them the same you would for anything ending in .iso.

What program recognizes them. Well what windows program I mean.

Thank You

If you have a cd burner, most cd burning programs recognize an .iso. just open up your burning program, and select the .iso, and run "burn image to disk" or similar function.

It will recognize the iso, but not the .raw. I guess I could rename it, but I didn't know if there was another progam for burning raw files. EZ CD creator won't reconize it.

Just rename to .iso and then use 'Create CD from Image' in CD Creator.

Why not burn it with cdrecord?
