how do i set up a dial-up connection? Where's the web broswer??? And the point to this OS is......?

For a web browser, try clicking on the big K button and navigate your way as you would on a Windows machine. I'm sure you'll find Netscape there somewhere. For setting up a dial-up connection, try KPPP. For further information, try going to http://www.kde.com and reading the documentation there. I'm sure you'll find it quite helpful.

If you need to ask, then what is the point for you to use it?

There is a very good NHF on Kppp here at LNO. Give it a try. Ensure your modem is detected and working first.

And your modem might not work if you have a winmodem, but you can search the net for patches to let winmodems work in linux

regarding the web browswer, ur file manager (kfm or konqueror, depending on the version of KDE u r running) should double up as a broswer. Tho' in my experience konqueror crashes more than netscape does (and a lot of ppl hate netscape because its prone to crashing or hanging randomly :) )
