usb Cable modem

Hi
Was curious if anyone has successfully
configured a usb cable modem in RedHat 7.0
I was thinking about tackling this for a
friend. From what i have read 1st thing is
to install the 2.4 kernel for better usb
support. Many thanks to anybody who can help
or point me in the right direction.

Unless you can find Linux drivers for the modem, it won't work using ANY kernel. And at this point, the only source for such drivers, AFAIK, is the modem manufacturer.
