Well, I'm not sure this is the best place to post this, but i'm not sure where else it should go...

I'm trying to burn a DVD, and it gives me an I/O error about 11.2% of the way through. I'd love to know why that's happening and how to fix it, but more importantly, I'd love to know why the edge of the DVD is pitting...

Think of it this way - if the top and the bottom of the DVD are glued together, it looks like the glue between the two parts is seeping out... has anyone ever seen this before, and if so, does anyone know why/how it happens?

What kind of DVD Drive do you have? Are you sure you're using the right kind of media, and have the right speed?

If you give us a bit more information, we may be able to tell you something.

Well, actually, this has since been solved (thanks for the reply, though) - I ended up having to burn at a lower speed, so if anyone else runs into a problem like this, they may want to try that.

And I think I have an answer on the second part of my question - according to a friend, it's part of the coating on the disc that's "dripping", for want of a better word, over the side...
