DMR 04-13-2001, 09:55 PM IF you have LILO version 2.12 or earlier, and don't have your /boot partition at the beginning of your hard drive, this link has the answer: the 1024 cylinder limitation (http://www.redhat.com/support/alex/160.html) [ 13 April 2001: Message edited by: DMR ] Nalle 04-15-2001, 09:43 AM DMR might be right, but here are two other reasons for the same to happen: 1. The BIOS is reporting different size then LILO expects to find. Might happen if you are changing disks, or take one out to install anoter OS & such. Solved by correcting BIOS (and probably boot from disk and run lilo) 2. Something went wrong last time you ran lilo (you might have compiled new kernel and rebooted without running lilo or something). Best solved by booting from disk and running lilo before rebooting again. justlinux.com
