I want to install Linux on one of my laptops [Toshiba Tecra 730 DT] However i forgot the CD-Rom at school... Is there a distro that lets me install a small ammount and then install the rest over ther internet, and is fairly user friendly?

Im thinking of trying BEos...

well, debian (http://www.debian.org/) can be put onto 17 floppies and loaded, or depending on the hardware (might not work for laptops, i never tried) only 6 floppies
i am not sure i would say it is "easy"
how much computer background do you have?
do you know DOS well?
does the term "command line" either scare you or not mean anything?
if you are adventurous and don't mind a challenge then go for that
oh, i forgot to ask what you are going to do with it?
if you want a nice fancy GUI when you are done, this may not be such a good idea

that would be ok too, but BeOS isn't linux
if you do that just load windows (or if it is already loaded, skip that step ;) ) then download the 45mb BeOS personal edition.
make sure you have more than 512mb free on the partition and follow the destructions
trying BeOS that way would be much easier that the debian install i described above and will give you an excellent GUI, vice the command line of debian (although you can of course install a GUI into debian, that is just more steps)
just be aware that BeOS has limited hardware support, i have no idea how friendly it is to laptops, check the be web site, it has hardware compatibility lists
good luck! :)

im pretty familiar with the prompt [ive got a RH 6.2 box P100 w/16m ram and its command line only, plays MP3s GameBoy/Nintendo/Sega games and lets me surf and work on Webpages without the ten minute loading time]
