Alright. I am going to try the Linux system. Now, I have had some confusion as to where to start. I have heard that there is a lot of problems that a newbie could have with partitioning a harddrive and configuring stuff so I wanted to make sure that I got the right distrobution. I have seen a few distros that promise the ability to work on the DOS partition.
While I would rather not partition my harddrive, I would like to have a good distro. Are Linux distros like PhatLinux and DragonLinux Good? If they are not, should i still get it to check out Linux before I get a real Linux system? Just a little input from some veteren newbies would be appreciated. Thganx.
Oh, and if you have used DragonLinux specifically, tell me about it please.

Peace and hotdogz. :D

Myself, I've never heard of either of them. PhatLinux sounds like it cheapens the community somewhat, but that's just me :) If you're a complete newbie, I'd recommend going for one of the following: Mandrake, Red Hat, SuSE, or Progeny. Progeny is a flavor of Debian (advanced linux) that is newbie-oriented. Mandrake is designed with newbies in mind, and is based on Red Hat. Red Hat is just easy to learn and is very well documented. SuSE has been described as a "Windows Killer" meaning it's easy. I started with Mandrake and I was quite happy with it. Definately go with one of those though...or maybe Slackware if you're feeling VERY adventurous and have a textbook nearby :) Make sure it's a major distro though...minor ones, unless based on a major one, tend to be poorly documented.

the last time i used dragon linux(about 2 years ago) it was really easy to install and the system was setup much like the slackware, the install was as easy as clicking a batch file than after the install was finished you boot into dos and type startlinux or something like that from the dragon linux install directory.

Alright. I got two systems. I am going to install my mandrake linux on the more powerful one and I am goig to try out the DragonLinux based on two things. I am ultimately curious and I have 33% of it downloaded.
I am putting dragonLinux on my less powerful system just to test it out and 'xperiment with it. Is there anything i should know about the installation process of the DragonLinux distro or is it pretty clearly explained?

Good move to go with Drake on the main system if you're a newbie. Drake does a good job of showing you exactly what linux is capable of.
