Sluggish DNS resolution

Hi

I'm using Mandrake 10.1, and my DNS resolution seems to be way too sluggish - there is a MINIMUM 4 second delay between "Resolving host..." and the site appearing. This is consistant between both mozilla and konquerer.

I am behind a linksys router, yet my windows laptop resolves domains instantly, as did my previous mandrake 9.1 installation.

Can someone please advise which config files I should post in order for you guys to be able to help me!

i guess you are using dhcp from your router?

what does:

/etc/hostname
/etc/resolve.conf
/var/lib/dhcp/dhcp_leases

look like

look through this thread. And on the Mandrake forums, I'm sure there are some tips on disabling Ipv6.
