In my operating systems clas, we are required to write a mouse driver as an assignment. Unfortunatly, the prof is horrible at teaching and I along with most of the class is lost. I was wondering if anyone would know off the top of their heads resources to learn about semaphores, mask/unmsking interrupts and critical sections that could help me organise my thought and come up with a plan? Thank you for any help you guys can give

Its a tad on the old side (from 2001), but it'll probably help you.

I don't know what text your using in your operating systems class, but i've found Tanenbaum's Modern Operating Systems quite readable. Maybe they have a copy of it at your school's library, its pretty ubiquitous as far as CS books go.
