I am using an ATI Rage Pro with XFree 4.3.0

When I used the open-source version of Tuxracer, I got absolutely no problems, everything works like a charm.

However, I purchased the full version of the game, hoping that I would get to conquer all the levels.

The problem is that I have installed the game but every time I try to run the game I get the following eror message:

%%% tuxracer warning: Failed to set video mode Couldn't find matching GLX visual
*** tuxracer error: Couldn't initialize video: Couldn't find matching GLX visual (Success)

When I checked my Xconfig file, I have the "glx" module loaded so I am mystified as to what the problem could be.

Any ideas?

What color depth are you running at? Try switching between 24-bit and 16-bit; maybe the commercial tuxracer only works with one or the other.

I just tried that: I was running 24 by default, changed to 16 rebooted:

Voila! NO LUCK. Problem unresolved.

Anymore suggestions?

Theres a tuxracer config file, atleast for the with open-source one in ~/.tuxracer I believe, I can't check at the moment, anyway you can select 16 or 24bit in there, if my memory serves me right. If you didnt change that try it :)
