How do these match up (speed, stability, features, etc.)?
More specifically, I am interested in running a window manager with desktop icons. I was thinking of using either IceWM and DFM or BB with KDE's panel and file manager.
IceWM and DFM work great together. The developer of DFM is an iceWM fan (see the website). This is the combo that the Vector Linux distro uses.
However, I don't use it myself as I have no use for icons on my root window and because I find Midnight Commander to be my file manager of choice for Linux.
And I don't use KDE/Konqueror...

Thx for the info although I wish I could get more feedback.

Actually, your question is moot. It all comes down to personal preferences. Try them all and decide for yourself.
