[SOLVED] Kmail: Could not start process pop3

this just happened after i disassembled my computer in order to do some modding and hiding of the wires... i started up my computer and it booted pretty slow like it does every now and then (possibly the old hard drive). i opened aMSN and it notified me of my new POP3 emails, so i opened Kmail and get the error message: "could not start process pop3." whenever i try to receive messages. i didn't change anything and it was working just a couple of days ago. i am running Enlightenment wm (latest). my isp is Shaw Cablesystems (shawmail.vc.shawcable.net is their smtp and pop3).

i guess i could always use Mozilla's email client, but i prefer Kmail.

i can't seem to get konqueror or k3b to work either. they give the message: "Culd not start process. Can't talk to klauncher." Konsole works just fine.

[SOLVED]

solution: killall -9 kdeinit (note: i am running E, not kde)

i simply killed kdeinit and kmail, konqueror, and k3b all work now.
