So I decided to build a web proxy/cache server using linux. I dig into my stack of burned CD's only to find an old version of RedHat 7.1 laying around. I figure I will go and download the latest and greatest Redhat.
My problem is, I have tried downloading from at least a half dozen mirrors. Each time, I look in my directory after the 600MB file has completed downloading and I only see a 90MB file sitting in the directory (it changes with every download 73MB, 109MB - the file size is different every time). I don't get it? I tried different distributions, different mirrors, different computers, different connections from different buildings. I'm at my wits end here. Is there a cruel joke I'm not privy too?
I must fess up if you have not derived from my post yet, I'm fairly new at linux. I'm an IT manager supporting mainly MS OS. A couple of years ago, I successfully built a linux firewall (I think it's plastered between two walls now but it still runs) but thats about the extent of my knowledge with Linux. Even then, the CD's were given to me.
Anyone ever been in my predicament?
