I want to know how to fix problems that will more than likely occur in linux/xwindows
so is there any books that anybody can recommend that will help me learn things that will assist problem solving knowledge?
I have all ready read running linux second edition, and have next to read linux administration:A beginner's guide. And linux! I didn't know you could do that.
The info doesn't have to be in a book though. Thanks.

Linux Complete is a pretty good desk reference style book. It has a lot of useful commands and interesting things in it. Also, I believe it is available online, but the book itself is only like $20.

Besides the enormous amount of Linux documentation available on the web such as the How-To's at www.linuxdoc.org, (http://www.linuxdoc.org,) you can read/print the online Linux books at Informit (http://infobase.informit.com/linux/). Free registration is required.

Those are the "big four" UNIX books. Most of the stuff in them isn't Linux-specific, but I would consider those books more important and more helpful than any Linux-specific book you could read.

Linux Essential Reference is a excellent Linux reference book. http://www.newriders.com
A second vote for UNIX Power Tools. It's a very handy reference.
