2.2.18pre21...800 K of manhandling monkey-lovin' power baby!
If I could solve my strange strange compilation issues, I'd be on 2.4.2

Here are my kernel compiles (they sit on my Windows partition because I use Loadlin, and the names are basically the kernel versions):

[ddipaolo@half-life ddipaolo]$ ls -lh /dos/C/2*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 415k Jan 3 12:08 /dos/C/2218
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 962k Dec 31 05:37 /dos/C/2218p21
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 521k Jan 31 13:31 /dos/C/240
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 538k Feb 8 18:36 /dos/C/241
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 511k Mar 20 21:43 /dos/C/242

heh heh... actually I was being quite humble and modest.

This is what the young ladies expressions look like, when exposed to the size of my kernel

It's big :D ... the kernel of course:

paul@blazebox:/$ ls -l vmlinuz*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1203661 Feb 24 14:15 vmlinuz
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1097529 Mar 11 02:18 vmlinuz-XFS
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1318650 Jan 29 01:11 vmlinuz-lfs

The first two are 2.4.2 with reiserfs,JFS and SGI's XFS file systems.Last one is 2.4.0 running on lfs with same filesystems build straight into kernel.
