Hey everybody...

This has kept me out of linux for a little while now...

I bought a D-Link DWL-G630 at Best Buy a little while ago because there was a rebate on it.....ok, not the best reason to buy, but I did

Mandrake 10.1 doesn't autodetect. Well, it might, but it doesn't work in any case. I dont know what driver it even uses to begin with ... or id try to select driver manually....if even that will work.....ehhh.....help?

Well, selecting a driver manually should work fine. It may not be included in the default Mandrake installs, so you may have to go and find a seperate driver for it and install it yourself, which shouldn't be too hard. The main trouble is going about figuring out what driver to use.

When I get stuck on a module (another name for a driver in this instance) I generally search the model plus "Linux Module" to see what it pulls up, like here.

there is a good wireless card for linux!!!! :) ok so I am a bit fickle......I would only suggest not emulating the drivers for windows....I did that for about 15 minutes before I decided to crimp a 30' patch cable
