Hi everybody,
I have an issue on one of my servers. The problem is that the server is quite loaded throughout the day with tasks (web, crons, mysql, sendmail, etc.) and the SSH terminal performs very poorly, e.g. the characters often take several seconds to echo back and tab completion of commands (db lookup) is almost unusable. The server is on a high-bandwidth network and I don't have any terminal problems on other boxes on the network during peak times, so it's definitely specific to the server.
Aside from getting another server or load balancing, are there any tricks anyone can suggest to improve the terminal performance on the loaded server?
