cant access LNO :(

i home a home network |win|--|lin|--DSL->
and my linux box can access linuxnewbie.org, but for my win box, it just sits there. My win box can access most websites, but i have found quite a few sites it doesn't work on (it cant even ping the site) what could be causing this? its possible its my firewall, but why some sites and not others. Both comps use the same dns servers and win used to be able to access lno.
any ideas?

well i got another box connected to the network (win98) and it has the same probs. I did some packet logging and yes my win2k box is getting packets from those servers (i still cant ping them). ANY help is wanted, what files should i check, how-tos man pages, anything. (i'm pretty sure its not my firewall, it inclues a 'flush' option and i still couldn't connect.
