Hello,

I have 2 boxes at home, one is Windows 98 and the other, well, I am hoping to turn it into Windows and Linux.

The problem is, would my 2 computers still be able to connect to each other and share files?

Also, could someone point me to some tutorials as to how to combine Windows and Linux on the same machine? I only have one HD, so I guess I have to do some partition, how much space would I need for each? I am looking at either installing Mandrake or Red Hat.

Thanks in advance.

Yes you can still share files. Look into running Samba for Linux. If you download the Samba package from http://www.samba.org you should get an indepth tutorial by O'Reilly on how to set it up.

If you're looking to dual boot by running Linux and Windows on the same machine, check the NHFs section: http://www.linuxnewbie.org/nhf/intel and look for documentation from http://www.google.com on topics dealing with LILO and GRUB.
