root question

How do I insure that you have to be at the local machine to log in as root?

I'm currently have a fresh installation of Mandrake 8.0

Please don't tell me to click on this or that in X because I don't use a GUI.

You need to make sure that /etc/securetty contains only the physical terminals:


console
tty1
tty2
tty3
tty4
tty5
tty6
