The Whizzard 03-25-2001, 12:28 PM Just like Intel chips, AMD chips are PC compatable. So, to answer your question AMD will execute Intel binaries. Tyr-7BE 03-25-2001, 12:28 PM They're both x86, so yes. AMD is better though :) Unruly 03-25-2001, 12:41 PM Just to rehash, and copy everyone else... Yes. Both chips are using the x86 instruction sets, therefore, both are the same in many respects. Same reason why you can run a windows pc with an  AMD  or an  intel  nad 03-25-2001, 05:28 PM okie, thanks all! :D Gaccm 03-25-2001, 08:00 PM the only diff is that that you need to choose athlon when you recompile your kernel (i not sure how the info of 'processor type' is used, but choose athlon anyway) Tyr-7BE 03-25-2001, 10:27 PM  AMD   Intel  Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out which is preferred :) justlinux.com
