HI all... having problems with my mouse in ET and (fuh)QuakeWorld. Occasionally, it just goes nuts, and maxes out both planes, "clicking buttons" randomly. So, I end up looking straight down or up, spinning in a circle, firing my gun repeatedly. After a few seconds, I can move normally. Needless to say, these epileptic fits (apologies to anyone who suffers from epilepsy) aren't doing much for my frag-to-death ratios. gpm is not installed.

Any ideas?

Debian -testing dual AMD 1.2 using Debian provided kernel, MS IntelliMouse PS/2 (using /dev/psaux for input dev in X config and imps/2 for driver).

OK, let me be Mister Obvious here. Are you sure the mouse button isn't sticking? I know this sounds stupid but I had to ask.

Yeah, its not just the button but the ball as well. Cleaned them both, cleaned the rollers, unplugged and replugged it into the PS2 port.

I'm thinking it has something to do with teh polling rate, etc. I tried using gpm and /dev/gpmdata for my input , but I've *never* had luck running gpm and X at the same time - cursor just goes nutz (in a different fashion than this problem).

I'm too addicted to the slimline shape of the intellimouse... heck, I still use my old Northgate Omni keyboard...
