Could you run the installer from the command line and post the output?

If you have the CD version, be sure not to run it from the mounted drive or that will stop you from swaping the disks

you could also look into the using the loki installer'ed updates once you get it installed

After searching Google for your error message, I see some references to it coming up when not all libraries for the interpreter can be loaded (which is not likely), or when the actual script is on a filesystem that's marked "noexec" in /etc/fstab. What's your CD drive mountpoint, and what is its corresponding line in /etc/fstab?

i ended up fixing the problem an easier way by copying disk 1 to my hard drive and i got the installer running but it asks me to mount the 4th disk and of course that disk is missing after searching my room in an angry fit for a good half hour ive come to the conclusion that i dont think ill be playiung ut2k4 anytime soon so i thank you for all your help

Man UT2004 is an awsome game but i only have the demo. From the demo it's still awsome, I hope soon i'll get the editor's choice edition.
