I've been using Linux since 2.2.10, and my sound has worked since 2.2.10... :)
However, I was running 2.2.18, when I felt brave, and took a leap into the 2.4 world!
I read the README, and /Documentation/Changes
I got all the new stuff up and working, so I went off to compile the kernel, however, when I got to sound, I noticed a major problem...
I compiled in Sound Card Support, OSS Modules, and 100% Compatible sound blaster (I have a SB16 ISA... isapnp is all configured)
But normally it gives me the option to set the IRQ, dma, dma16, and mpu.... But, it didn't do that with the 2.4.2 kernel, what I'm asking, is how do I get my sound to work now?
When the kernel boots it says that setting the irq, dma, etc. is mandatory... but where do i set it?!?!?!?
I really want sound back... I'm an MP3 and Ogg Vorbis fiend!
Oh well... Please help if you can.
Summary:
Can't set IRQ, DMA, DMA16, and MPU for a SB16 in 2.4.2... If you know how, please reply.
