Ave!
I've got this old CUV-NT (http://www.gearxs.com/gearxs/product_info.php?products_id=1989) motherboard laying around. It came from some Hewlett-Packard 878-something PC. I'd love to use the old clunker for trying out Ubuntu Linux, however, the Athlon 1700+ CPU got cracked. (Crazy fan that came with it is an adventure to take off!)
However, the specifications in this website (http://www.gearxs.com/gearxs/product_info.php?products_id=1989) , (linked above), says the motherboard is compatible with Socket 370 CPUs. Does that entail that I may install any other Socket 370-compatible CPU on it? The local store here carries Athlon 2000s, but not 1700s.
I posted this topic under 'Off Topic,' since it's not really a Linux hardware-compatability question.
