Does the the 2.4 kernels support this newer hardware and motherboard chipset?

I use an A7V266-E just fine. Actually I just swapped it for an A7V.. linux chugs right along :). Just make sure you set the jumper on the board to Palamino (Athlon/Duron is default) and set the temp sensor jumper to "reserved". That should get you going.

Hi! And how mutch DDR you use and do you specify in the lilo.conf and you do with SDRAM, something like append"mem=<size> m

It has one 512MB Infineon PC2100 DDR (2-2-2 timings). And chances are you don't have to add anything to lilo to get linux to use the RAM. I've never had to do that on any of my machines. kernelname mem=*M to boot in case it doesn't detect it. Or do the append " mem=***M" thing in lilo.conf
