Doesn't seem to matter what I'm doing with them. Sometimes I get an error saying that "Gnome-terminal has quit unexpectedly" sometimes I do not. I do have /dev/pts filesystem support enabled in my kernel and the appropriate line in my fstab.
I can go a day without it crashing then sometimes it'll crash twice in five minutes. When I came to my machine this morning I had found that it had crashed overnight when I wasn't even touching it. Here's what it looked like when I turned my monitor on:

dmesg is producing this error:
keyboard.c: can't emulate rawmode for keycode 240
keyboard.c: can't emulate rawmode for keycode 240
I can't confirm that this is the error that results in my gnome-terminals crashing but that message appears in my dmesg about the same amount of times as my gnome-terminal has crashed. And it's all I have to go on at this point.
The keyboard is an old MS Natural connected via PS/2 with no fancy buttons.
