Okay, so you have the latest 64bit Linux installed on a 64bit AMD platform but are disappointed to learn that the java and flash plugins don't work and there is no 64bit port...

NO PROBLEM! :D

Download and install the 32bit i686 linux version of Firefox and install it were you like (mine is in my home user directory) you can link/install the plugins and they work fine now! Yipie!

works great for me in SuSE 9.2

Thank god for the backwards compatability with those chips. It'd be rough times without it and just cause for more problems than they're worth. Good to hear it works though.

It will fail to work correctly with gtk themes, that's been my experience. Linking 64 bit and 32 bit binaries doesn't work out well.

you are correct about the compatibility with GTK themes, however I am more concerned about the functionality of the browser than appearance...

BTW - on my SuSE 9.2 Oh - the Java and Flash plugins work out of the box if using konqueror browser -guess KDE/konqueror kept backward 32bit compatibility
