Everytime a load up linux, my mouse is not recognised. I need to go into the hardware app and select a random mouse which of course does not work and then choose the generic USB mouse (its a logitech MX700) and all then works fine
any ideas how to avoid this hassle at startup
Cheers

Are the appropriate modules being loaded at startup for an USB mouse? Check the output of lsmod after startup, but before you get it working. Also, can you post the relevant portions of dmesg

Thanks Mr Ben
Here is the output of dmesg and lsmod before I manually loaded the mouse as an attached file

Hmm - nothing massively out of the ordinary there - can you add the mouse on, and post any new lines from dmesg?
