Hello everyone,
I want to install the new Debian distro, but I don't have a burner. Is there a way I can
install it via the internet. I nkow FreeBSD has something like this with PORTS, is that available for Debian

yes, you can do an ftp install
just make the boot/root and driver floppies, load them up and chooose ftp
this works excellent if you have a LAN/broadband to plug into
or do you mean via dial-up?

Installing over the internet is great if you have the bandwidth. I did that with mine a while back because I'm on a university connection, and those are almost always fast. Also, it does help if your NIC is compatible, but I haven't found too many NICs that aren't, even USB NICs are often times compatible. Just so you know, many NICs use tulip if they're PCI (there's a seperate driver for ISA tulip though), and pegasus if they're USB.
